About

The Habitat 500 Bike Ride is a ride (not a race) and fundraiser that covers up to 500 miles over the course of several months. Every rider raises funds from their community and can choose the local or global Habitat for Humanity affiliate they wish to support.

In 2020 and 2021, the Ride was completely virtual, with participants cycling in their own communities and raising funds for Habitat for Humanity. This year, we look forward to offering both a virtual option (Habitat 500: Bike @ Home) and a hybrid event where riders cycle in their own communities, then gather in person from July 14 – 17, 2022, in Fergus Falls, MN.

Bike @ Home: Looking for a fully virtual ride? Similarly to 2020 and 2021, the 2022 Habitat 500: Bike @ Home celebrates the 30-year history of the Habitat 500 Bike Ride while participants bike in their own communities and gather online. We invite riders to cycle any time between registering and September, for as many miles as they would like. Virtually anyone can participate! There is no age restriction–riders of any age may register; we require an additional waiver signed by a parent or guardian for those under 18. No special cycling skill or knowledge required.

Hybrid Ride: Looking forward to biking with others? Join us in completing your mileage goal both at home and in person in 2022. From now through September of 2022, start your miles at home. Then, we invite you to join us in Fergus Falls, MN, from July 1417, 2022 to bike up to 200 miles together! See details below.
Thursday, July 14: optional build day and mandatory welcome and safety orientation
Friday, July 15 - Sunday, July 17: three days of cycling

Habitat 500 Impact: Donations are greatly needed by Habitat in your communities. Habitat affiliates continue to respond to and recover from the pandemic and its financial hardships. They are working hard to build and repair homes all over the state and country with local families.
