Intro to Cyanotype: Photograms on Fabric

Explore the historic photographic process of cyanotypes while transferring unique prints onto fabric. This vibrant technique uses the power of the sun to expose detailed prints on surfaces. First, students will be introduced to the method of cyanotype on fabric by creating 3 small canvas patches. This will allow for experimentation with objects, exposure times, and composition (resulting in handmade patches you can take home to use later!). Students will then cyanotype onto a 15” x 16” cotton cloth tote bag for their final piece. The result of cyanotype is pure magic and one of a kind!
