About

Ski, snowshoe, or hike on trails lit by luminaries. Warm up by the fire afterwards with some hot cocoa. Stop in anytime during this ongoing event. Adult and children's snowshoes are available to rent. Meet at the River Inn Visitor Center.

Notes:

1) No need to sign up ahead of time. Rent snowshoes upon arrival at the park headquarters which is next to the River Inn Interpretive Center. Both child & adult snowshoes are $6/pair.

2) Dogs - We kindly request that you leave your pet at home tonight unless it is a trained service dog. This busy event has all participants on the same trail. In the past, we've had issues with dogs walking on the ski tracks or getting tangled up with other users. Pets are also not allowed inside the building.

3) What to bring - hikers & snowshoers should wear warm boots with good traction. Although the trails are well lit, many bring a flashlight or headlamp in case it's needed. Help reduce waste by bringing your own insulated mug for hot cocoa & cider.

**Volunteers are needed for this event. Volunteers work in one of three shifts (early afternoon, right before the event starts, or right after.) It will involve walking, bending, setting out luminaries, lighting them, or taking luminaries down. If interested please call Kris at 218-673-7005 or email to help with set-up or take-down.
