This annual community theater program brings people together to learn a wide variety of artistic skills including acting, stilt-walking, Finnish culture and heritage, and make connections with fellow community members and artists. After two weeks of workshops creating puppets, props, and costumes, practicing stilt-walking, and learning theater skills, community members perform this play first at the Community Corn Feed held on Friday, August 19 at 7pm (Corn Feed begins at 4pm) at the New York Mills VFW Post 3289; and second at the Finn Creek Summer Festival on Saturday August 20 @ noon at Finn Creek Open Air Museum. The first performance at the VFW is free to attend and open to all. The second performance at Finn Creek is part of their Summer Festival, which has a gate donation of $5 for adults, with children free; all are welcome, and there is no separate cost to watch the performance. A free will donation will be collected at the conclusion of each performance to help support future community theater events! This program is produced by the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center.
