Less than a mile of a hike on packed snow or mowed trail lit with ice luminaries and real candles to reach the historic WPA warming shelter for a treat of hot cocoa and smores'.
Parking is at Group Camp 2 (Lac qui Parle Group Camp on Google Maps). Please also bring a flashlight, as some candles may go out.
Wear clothing for the weather and boots with good support.
The moon will be up during the event, though, just past the full moon.
State Park vehicle permits are required and are not sold at the event. You can purchase one online and write the confirmation number on paper and leave on your dash. Staff will be busy the day of the event and the office will not be open.
