Storm Season Author Event: Sarah Stonich & Peter Geye, Nov. 20 | Drury Lane Books

Drury Lane Books welcomes beloved and best-selling Minnesota authors Sarah Stonich and Peter Geye for some out-of-the-ordinary storm season fun. Bundle up, bring a thermos with your favorite warm beverage and hang out with us by the campfire as Sarah and Peter share tales from their books, work, and lives.

Sarah’s new book is Reeling, the second in her Fishing trilogy. She is also the bestselling author of Vacationland, The Laurentian Divide (winner of the Minnesota Book Award for Fiction), and These Granite Islands. Peter’s most recent book is Northernmost. He is the author of the award winning novels Safe from the Sea, The Lighthouse Road, and Wintering (winner of the Minnesota Book Award).

This event will be outdoors no matter the weather, so dress warmly and bring your thermos and intrepidness.

Lake Superior Wave Dash, Nov. 28 | Lutsen Resort

You have probably heard of a “polar plunge.” Wave Dash takes the idea one step further — literally. You don’t just dunk in Lake Superior — you run into it.
That’s right. Take a quick, chilly dash into Lake Superior, contribute to a good cause, and win bragging rights for life.

Registration is at 11 a.m. and the Wave Dash will be at 1 p.m., benefiting the Cook County Community YMCA. Team costume prizes, age group prizes, local community swag bags, hot chocolate , Lutsen’s wild rice chowder and house-made chili.
