Lakes Area Music Festival Prelude Series - BRAINERD

The Lakes Area Music Festival presents our 2023 Prelude Series bringing musicians from our nation's top orchestras and opera companies to the surrounding communities of central Minnesota during the month of July. Warming up to the official festival season, this year’s series will span three weekends and feature our resident ensemble the Thalea String Quartet and our 2032 roster of vocal fellows.

Our Brainerd Prelude Series performance on July 14 features the 2023 resident ensemble: The Thalea String Quartet. This innovative and exciting young quartet will present music by composers from all over the world, joined by festival director John Taylor Ward! The Thalea String Quartet can also be heard performing concerts in Nisswa, Bemidji, Brainerd, Aitkin, and Crosslake.

An outdoor concerts for families and all ages!

No tickets are required for these community events. Free-will donations will be accepted at all Prelude performances.
