Join us to learn about the Minnesota State Fossil Initiative, with special guests from the Science Museum of Minnesota’s paleontology team and University of Minnesota experts.
Minnesota is one of just four states in the US without a fossil state symbol. In a recent vote, the clear winner was Castoroides, the ancient giant beaver, a favorite at the Bell’s open glacier diorama. On Saturday, our guests will have plenty of cool things on hand, including fossil evidence of giant beavers and other great Ice Age beasts from Minnesota. Learn how you can help make Castoroides the official Minnesota state fossil!
