Masopust

All are invited to Montgomery in celebrating its 20th annual Masopust (Czech Mardi Gras).  2/23/2020 at the American Legion Club, 102 Elm Ave SW, Montgomery, noon - 5 p.m.  Doors open at 11:30.  Czech foods available including pork & dumplings.  St. Paul Czech and Slovak Folk Dancers.  King coronation.  Costume Contest; costumes encouraged but not required.  Admission: Adults $5. Children under age 15 free.  Traditional Masopust skit in which permission to party is granted as the villagers say "good-bye to meat" for the Lenton season.  Special guest anticipated to attend is Marit Lee Kucera, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic for MN, IA, ND, SD.  Kolacky  Day royalty will make an appearance, as well as neighboring royalty.  Come join the fun -- you don't have to be Czech to enjoy the party!
