About

Join us as we plant hundreds of trees and shrubs along the Red River!

Development and cultural practices have prevented natural regeneration of trees along the banks of the river. Planting trees in key areas along the Red creates a buffer to maintain riverbank stability, encourage the growth of native plants, improve water quality, and provide habitat for river wildlife. Trees reduce air pollution, cool the atmosphere, prevent soil erosion ease the severity of floods and decrease maintenance costs of roads and parking areas.

Volunteers will dig holes, plant, mulch and water. Short trainings will be held throughout the event. Volunteers can arrive between noon and 2:30 p.m. Training video also available here:
