About

The first Museum Makers Class of the year is coming up! Join WCHS member and volunteer, Lori Ortega, in creating vintage inspired Valentines on Sunday, February 2, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. or on Monday, February 10, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Cost is just $3 for members and $5 for non-members. All the supplies are provided. Register for one or more of the upcoming Vintage Valentine Classes at winonahistory.org, by calling 507-454-2723 ext. 0, or stopping in the History Center. You can pay at the History Center Tickets Desk upon arrival. This class is an open-house style, so you are welcome to come anytime during the listed class times, but allow time to make your Valentine. We will be done at the end time. Walk-ins are welcome but those registered will be guaranteed a spot. Space is limited. Open for all ages, but best for those 6 and older. Adults must accompany children.
Exchanging handmade Valentine’s Day cards began in America in the early 1700s. Manufactured cards appeared as early as the 1830s. After this time, the availability of paper and a universal postal system made valentines more accessible. Keep the fun tradition of handmade cards alive! Drop in to make some vintage inspired Valentines for your sweeties.
The Winona County History Center is open daily 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 160 Johnson St. in downtown Winona. Call 507.454.2723 or log on winonahistory.org to find more!
