Music and Camping Event - Edge of Everywhere
About
Osprey Wilds and Save the Boundary Waters are partnering with the creators of the album Echoes from Iron Ore to host a live music event on Saturday, June 12.
Echoes from Iron Ore is a collaborative, independent roots music album recorded in March 2021 in a small cabin at the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA). Produced by Dave Simonett (Trampled by Turtles, Dead Man Winter), the album features a cast of local musicians and will help raise money and awareness for the protection of the BWCA. You can hear samples of the music at echoesfromironore.com. Learn about the issues surrounding the BWCA and enjoy a night of live music, food, and camping. This event is family-friendly and will be held at Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center in Sandstone, Minnesota.
General admission is $25 per person. Children ages 10 and under can join for free. Live outdoor music will be from 4 – 8 pm on June 12.

In the Potluck String Band, everyone brings something to the table, and, as often happens when creating something together, the result is more than the parts that made it. Call it joy, call it good old-fashioned fun, call it a bunch of strings strummed into a heart-opening chord.
With a nostalgic appreciation for old-time tunes, Katey Bellville inevitably pines for traditional sounds while composing contemporary songs. Raised both in the rolling hills of the country on horseback and deep in the heart of the city of Minneapolis, she has always stirred a brew of reverse passions. Dedicated listeners describe her original songs as ‘unforgettable’, blending modern pop sensibilities with fundamental bluegrass instrumentation.
