About
Come to the Annual New Ulm Trade Fair and Living History Event (or, as "old-timers" call it, Black Powder Trade Show).
The historically-themed trade show was originally started by an area shooting club and had an emphasis on antique firearms. In the years since, the event has expanded to include a variety of vendors selling everything frontier related, from buck knives to fur skin clothing. 70+ vendors! 100+ table displays!
Organizer Mike Emery credits the success of Trade Fair to its being a traditional way of kicking off the spring season and cure cabin fever after a long winter.
Emery further commented the fair is more than a trade show, it is living history. Many of the costumed participants are year-long re-enactors with in-depth knowledge of frontier living.
