North Shore Community Night

About

This event is free and open to all!

To celebrate the opening of the new Split Rock Lighthouse exhibit, we will host an open house on May 26 from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. The evening will include music by Adam Moe, Nathan Frazer, food trucks, beverages and yard games. The new exhibit will be open to the public and the night will end with a beacon lighting at 9:00 p.m.

The new exhibit at Split Rock covers a wide history but focuses on how over time we have tried to interact with or control Lake Superior. The exhibit will feature never before seen artifacts and recently untold stories. New items include the ship's wheel from the Maderia, Keeper Young's hat and many other items that reflect what it was like to raise a family at the Light Station. Finally, the crown of the exhibit will be the full scale replica of the Third Order Fresnel Lens that all guests will be able to enjoy.

Split Rock Lighthouse is located 20 miles north of Two Harbors, MN on Highway 61 on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Parking free for Historic Site visitors. If parking lot fills, attendees can park in the state park and hike up to the site. Guests are encouraged to bring a headlamp and dress for the weather.
