The Onward March of Suffrage

About

The History Center's new exhibit, "The Onward March of Suffrage," is now open! 2020 marks one-hundred years since women voted in their first national election. Getting the vote was no tea party.
The suffrage movement was a 72-year struggle for women who overcame barriers, setbacks, and a disagreement that almost crippled the movement. On August 26, 1920, their goal came to fruition with the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
These women made history. Visit our exhibit and learn how! Try your hand at a practice ballot. Take a selfie with one of the suffrage sisters.
