About
Opening Day for Chik-Wauk Museum & Nature Center is Saturday, May 25, 2024.
New for 2024, the author exhibit area will highlight two new authors; Timothy Cochrane and Staci Drouillard.
- Tim Cochrane has researched and written several books, most recently Making the Carry: The Lives of John and Tchi-Ki-Wis Linklater.
- Staci Lola Drouillard is a Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe direct descendant. She lives and works in her hometown of Kitchibitobig—Grand Marais, MN. Her newest book is A Family Tree, a children's book telling the story of a white spruce sapling planted in the rocky soil at Grand Portage and transplanted to Auntie’s yard when the family moves away from the reservation.
We hope everyone will spend a few minutes at this new author exhibit and perhaps purchase one of the books these wonderfully talented local authors have shared with us.
