Prairie Gardens Install
About
Get your fill of seeds, seedlings, soil and sun at Prairie Gardens Install, a new hands-on workshop offered by Rethos: Places Reimagined. Learn how to create your own prairie garden with native plants uniquely adapted to your local climate. Instructor Ben Wood will guide you through the process while installing a prairie garden at the Jodon House, a Greek Revival-style home built in 1858 in Little Falls. Ben will teach you what, where, when and how to plant and about the importance of good site preparation. Enjoy this historic landscape while learning the essential skills needed to help you create your own natural wonder.
Prairie gardens provide much-needed habitat for local wildlife and are a great way to enhance your home or business. An underutilized tool of preservation, habitat renewal can provide protection from damage due to moisture, erosion and other nature elements. This outdoor workshop is not to be missed!
This class is brought to you by Rethos: Places Reimagined and the Morrison County Historical Society, its Central Minnesota Education Coordinator. The program has been financed in part by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society and by the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls One Planet Fund.
General admission for each class is $35. A Pay What You Can option is also available. Register at https://www.rethos.org/classes
