It’s 1933 in St. Paul. Two reporters are approached by the daughter of Minnesota beer tycoon William Hamm to help investigate his kidnapping. While they’re hot on the case, the FBI tries out a new scientific method of crime-fighting for the first time – the use of fingerprints. Meanwhile the infamous Barker-Karpis gang is trying to figure out just what they’re going to do with their hostage in this fun mish-mash of fact, fancy, and St. Paul history.
