With a homemade pair of skis and daredevil determination,
Ralph Samuelson made history on Lake Pepin. Ralph grew up in Lake
City, just two blocks from the water, and invented a sport that is enjoyed worldwide. You’ll meet him in this 33-minute
documentary film based on Gregor Ziemer’s book A Daredevil & Two Boards. The film, Ralph Samuelson: The Father of
Waterskiing screening will be followed by Q&A with filmmaker Ben Threinen. Presented by the Lake City Historical Society in partnership with the Lake City
Public Library. Suggested
donation $10, kids come free. All proceeds to benefit the Lake City Historical
Society.
