River Walk Tours

About

Rivers are constantly changing! We invite you to explore the environmental and cultural changes along the Minnesota River by taking a walk along the river in Mendota, MN. You will hear stories of the people who have passed along the river through history, examine the natural communities along the river, and find evidence of natural and human caused changes in the river bottom. You may even see migrating birds amidst autumn’s changing colors! The walk is approximately one mile along a fairly flat, unpaved dirt trail. Pre-registration is required, space is limited. Check-in the day of the walk is at the Dupuis House located on the Sibley Historic Site at 1357 Sibley Memorial Hwy; Mendota, MN 55150.

Rick Magee is a retired Park Ranger and Historic Site Educator for the Dakota County Historical Society and Minnesota Historical Society.

Space is limited, so please register at https://dakotahistory.org/events/1010-sep-3-to-oct-5-fall-river-walk-tours-at-sibley
