The Roots are bringing their jazz style and eclectic approach to hip-hop to the Mystic Showroom on Sunday, June 30, at 8 p.m. The American hip-hop band is known for their artistic use of live instruments and creative renditions of pop hits.
Co-founded and fronted by rapper Black Thought (Tariq Trotter) and drummer Questlove (Ahmir Thompson), the legendary Roots lineup has become one of the best known and most respected hip-hop acts in the business, winning four Grammys over the course of the group’s career. They currently serve as the official house band on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.â€
