The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra: Beethoven, Coleman and Tate

About

Originally composed to be performed with accompanying images of the American Indian Southwest, Chickasaw classical composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate’s evocative and energetic Pisachi (Reveal) draws on musical influences from Hopi and Pueblo Indian music. Music by Sandbox Composer-in-Residence Valerie Coleman makes its first appearance of the season in the joyful Maombi Asante (A Prayer of Thanks) followed by Ludwig van Beethoven’s Harp quartet, given its name because of the imitation of a harp produced by the strings plucking their strings.
