By the middle of October, the refuge typically hosts thousands of cranes that roost overnight in refuge wetlands, and then fly out to area croplands to forage during the day. Join us for a free guided tour of their roosting area on the refuge!
Reservations are required and open on Wednesday, September 29. When you email/call, have the names of all participants, along with a 1st/2nd date choice picked. Email [email protected] or call 763-389-3323 (Wednesday through Friday) or 763-260-3078 (Monday and Tuesday).
Meet at the Oak Savanna Learning Center (16797 289th Ave NW. Zimmerman, MN) to check in, use the outdoor flush restrooms and wait outdoors or in your own vehicle. By 7:10 sharp, participant will caravan in their own vehicles, following staff out to the viewing location on the refuge.
