The Servant of Two Masters

About

Carlo Goldoni's eighteenth century Italian classic is as hilarious as ever in this brand new adaptation. Unbeknownst to each other, two lovers flee to Venice: one in disguise, one on the run from the law, and both in need of a little assistance. When wily servant Truffaldino is faced with the opportunity to secretly serve these two masters for double the money, he is quick to accept…without thinking about the challenges of trying to be in two places at once! Mixups, music, mayhem and a whole lot of fun ensue in an adaptation that showcases classic Commedia dell’Arte characters and lazzi with a modern twist. Echoing the traveling theatre troupes of yore, the production will play on the Great River main stage as well as in found spaces throughout the region.
