About

This eclectic and dynamic array of arrangements written or performed by iconic female vocalists is a cadre of local Twin Cities’ luminaries such as Judi Vinar, Joyann Parker, Rachel Holder, Charmin Michelle and Anna Christy backed by pianist Lori Dokken (Producer & Music Director of Shout! Sister, Shout!) along with an all-star rhythm section. Joining them is Eden Bodnar, a local actress/artist/voiceover talent who will be delivering the spoken word sections.

The musical journey begins with Sister Rosetta Tharpe and travels through time up to today featuring tributes to female phenoms such as Billie Holiday, Carole King, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, India Arie and many more.

The evening will also be interspersed with words from some well-known writers and celebrities such as Maya Angelou, Terry Tempest Williams, Winona LaDuke, Coretta Scott King, Mary Oliver and more.

A visual backdrop also accompanies this production and features digital renderings of the writers, composers and vocalists associated with each song and quotation.
