About

Join a hands-on, immersive class to learn a Somali weaving technique using no loom or frame. Somali nomads use this finger-weaving technique to create mats to cover their homes, which visitors can see on display in the Somalis + Minnesota exhibit.

This class will be taught by Ardho Ismail, Amina Shire, and Hawa Aden and is suitable for all ages and for Somali and non-Somali alike.

This program is offered in conjunction with the exhibit Somalis + Minnesota.

Support for this program has been provided by the Marney and Conley Brooks Fund.
