About

Recommended for all ages

Spotlight Science is a regular program connecting you to current research at the University of Minnesota and giving you the chance to meet the scientists and students who make the projects possible. Join us for special talks and unique interactive experiences.

It’s time to explore the fascinating world of fungi! Students and researchers from the Kennedy Lab at the College of Biological Sciences will showcase a variety of mushrooms and help visitors learn about foraging. You’ll have a chance to look at mushrooms under a microscope, see specimens from the Bell Museum’s collection, and get busy with hands-on activities. Weather permitting, there will even be a few mushroom walks scheduled for the day.

Join us for this in-person event at the Bell Museum. Activities and events will be held throughout the museum and are included in the cost of regular admission.

About the Speakers

Guest speakers will include associate professor in the Department of Plant & Microbial Biology, Peter Kennedy, along with members of the Kennedy Lab.
