About

Recommended for all ages

Spotlight Science is a regular program connecting you to current science, conducted at the University of Minnesota and in our community. Join researchers, students, and special guests for conversations and unique interactive experiences.

Join us for a journey into the fascinating world of ornithology, the study of birds. Have conversations and engage in hands-on activities with researchers from the Reddy and Barker labs at the University of Minnesota. They are studying bird populations and their ability to adapt to environments past, present, and future.  Learn how researchers study the appearance, habitat needs, and genetics of birds to learn about biodiversity and inform conservation practices. Activities that connect art and flight will be available for visitors of all ages. Be sure to see additional work from the Reddy and Barker labs in the Seeing Birds exhibit while you’re here!

This is an in-person event at the Bell Museum. Activities and events will be held throughout the museum and are included in the cost of regular admission.
