About
Standing Rock’s "Not Afraid to Look" replica sculpture is coming to Giiwedinong in Park Rapids, MN!
Join Charles Rencountre and our team in celebrating this art installation, which symbolizes our collective efforts to protect the water.
Saturday, May 18th, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“Not Afraid to Look” is a sculpture erected at the Sacred Stone Camp on the Missouri River during the Standing Rock resistance gathering. The 18-foot sculpture emerged from an “effigy pipe," originally carved and used at the end of the 17th century.
Come celebrate the opening with Giiwedinong, Charles, the Park Rapids Arts & Culture Advisory Commission, the City of Park Rapids, and surrounding communities featuring a traditional drum group honor song and partake in other celebrations.
Native American artisans will also have booths to display their work.
Let's unite in our efforts to safeguard our environment for future generations and make a positive impact together. Your presence at this event is crucial to showing your support for this important cause as we work towards igniting awareness, fostering respect, and driving meaningful change.
