Join local Vietnamese-American cartoonist, artist, and writer Trung Le Nguyen for a talk about his work, including his award-winning graphic novel The Magic Fish. This beautifully illustrated story follows Tiến, a young boy trying to navigate life through fairytales who learns how stories bring us together. The Magic Fish tackles tough subjects in a way that is accessible with readers of all ages, and teaches us that no matter what—we can all have our own happy endings.
Trung Le Nguyen is an award-winning Vietnamese-American cartoonist, artist, and writer from Minnesota. Trung’s first original graphic novel, The Magic Fish, has been nominated for an Eisner, a prize at Angoulême (France), a GLAAD award, and has won two Harvey Awards and a Romics (Italy). Trung has also contributed work for DC Comics, Oni Press, Boom! Studios, Image Comics, and Marvel.
