About
Carifest is a multicultural festival centered on all the cultures of the Caribbean Islands and its related areas. Each year, we celebrate on the fourth weekend in July along the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. It is the one opportunity of the year to visit the Caribbean without leaving Minnesota. Families of all backgrounds are encouraged to join in the celebration and cultural experience. Many Caribbean families gather annually for this one-of-a-kind Twin Cities event.
We kick-off a lively and colorful weekend with a Friday night concert party. A highlighted performer keeps the crowd moving into the night. Sample some of the culinary delights of the islands. This high energy party sets the scene for our main event.
On Saturday, get the full taste of Caribbean culture at a family-friendly festival while enjoying the beauty of outdoor Minnesota. The festivities reflect the diversity found among Caribbean folks. Vendors’ booths provide opportunities to indulge in the Caribbean cuisine as well as purchase unique merchandise. Dancers, singers and musician grace the stage for all-ages entertainment. In addition to the annual costume march, we are planning to revitalize our full Caribbean–themed parade!
We can’t wait to see you on the Parkway! So mark your calendars, bring your friends and family and enjoy being Caribbean, if only for the day. Check out our website, Facebook and Twitter. We would love to hear from you.
