About
Please join us as we celebrate America’s Veteran’s with a luncheon at the Sibley Historic Site on Saturday, November 9th from 1-3 pm.
Following the luncheon, you’ll enjoy a presentation by historian and lecturer Frank Sachs as he discusses Japan’s surprise attack on the United States at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 and how it came to be “A day that will live in infamy”. Together we will examine the U.S. and Japanese relationship over the 90 years before the fateful date. How each side misunderstood the other and how those misunderstandings led to this catastrophic attack. Frank will conclude by discussing how it was planned, carried out, and what it cost each side.
Pre-registration for this event is required so that food can be ordered. You can pre-register at https://dakotahistory.org/events/1023-nov-9-veterans-day-luncheon-at-sibley
