Sanborn Maps not only help you locate your family - their greatest utility lies in decoding your ancestors' lives. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or novice, this session will help you get the most out of these unique maps that cover more than 12,000 towns and cities across the United States from the 1880s to 1950s.

Michelle L. Spencer, owner of RomaMaryGrace, is an historian and professional genealogist specializing in family business research, small town research, material culture, pandemics, National Register of Historic Places, military, and government records. She loves doing research and collecting old things. She has co-authored more than fifty nominations to the National Register and her genealogical clients included the television shows Who Do You Think You Are? and Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. She and her husband live in Millbrook, Alabama.
