Waking Spring - Ebony Ivory & Spruce Trio

Beneath the blanket of cold, white
snow and persistent grey skies, Spring only slumbers. The Ebony Ivory
and Spruce (EIS) Trio will offer a concert, “Waking Spring”, on Sunday,
March 29, at 7 pm at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (900 Summit Ave, St.
Paul, MN) to usher in the season of warmth and vibrant color.

With David Methner on clarinet/saxophone
(Ebony), Dr. Charles Kemper on piano (Ivory), and Nathan Wilson on violin/mandolin
(Spruce), “Waking Spring” will include the following pieces, newly
arranged for The EIS Trio:

Wedding Day at Troldhaugen

Berceuse to Spring

Butterfly

Lili Boulanger:

One Spring Morning

Joaquin Turina:

Piano Trio No. 2 in B minor, op. 76

Claude Debussy:

Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun

The Trio also plans to add
spring-themed jazz pieces.
