WALK TO END HUNGER GOES VIRTUAL FOR FIRST TIME IN 13 YEARS
The Walk to End Hunger (WTEH), a Minnesota Thanksgiving tradition at Mall of America® for 13 years, will be virtual this year for the first time on November 26th. The theme for this year’s WTEH is “Resetting Our Community Table” to address local hunger issues exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic and civil unrest in the Twin Cities.
Registration is opens at www.walktoendhunger.org. Participants will be encouraged to register to "walk" for one of the WTEH partner organizations, or "walk" to benefit all nine equally. Every dollar raised is the equivalent of three meals for hungry Minnesotans. To date, the WTEH has raised more than $3 million to benefit local hunger-relief organizations.
One in eight Minnesotans are experiencing hunger, high job loss and unprecedented economic uncertainty. More than 275,000 Minnesotans don't know where their next meal is coming from. She noted that Minnesota food shelf usage continues to rise, especially among seniors.
There will be limited activities at Mall of America beginning at 10 AM on Thanksgiving morning. Everyone is invited to follow along at various WTEH social media channels including:

The WTEH was created by the Minnesota Hunger Initiative in 2007. This year’s event provides financial support for nine hunger relief organizations: The Food Group; Hunger Solutions; Keystone Community Services; Loaves and Fishes; Meals on Wheels; Minnesota FoodShare; Neighbors, Inc.; PRISM; Second Harvest Heartland
