From the Boundary Waters to the Apostle Islands, our 5-Day Wilderness Trips provide adventure for families who love to be outdoors together. Advanced reservations are required.

5-Night Boundary Waters Trips
Grab a paddle and start your adventure. Your professional naturalist guide will teach you all the skills needed to meet the challenges of a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters. While on trail, your guide will also offer additional opportunities that are designed to be active, hands-on learning adventures for all ages.

  • Trip cost is all-inclusive
  • Our routes offer a wonderful blend of river and lake travel combined with the chance to stay put and explore the woods and water right outside your tent door
  • Wolf Ridge naturalists are experienced wilderness guides, certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding/Wilderness Water Safety
  • Learn wilderness skills necessary to become confident and successful canoe country travelers
  • “Wild Classes” such as Ojibwe Stargazing, Wild Birds, Voyageur Life, Wild Trees, and Critter Talks engage the whole family

5-Night Apostle Island Trips
This trip combines the adventure of exploring the world’s largest freshwater lake by kayak with the remarkable natural and cultural history of the Apostle Island National Lakeshore. Your Wolf Ridge naturalist guide will meet your group at Little Sand Bay in the National Lakeshore. From there you will learn the kayak skills needed to explore the Mawikwe Bay sea caves and the lighthouses and beaches of Raspberry, York, Oak, and Sand Islands. Your group will spend one night on the mainland before heading out for 3 nights on the islands.

  • No experience necessary
  • Wolf Ridge will provide all kayak safety and skills training
  • Maximum 6 people
  • Participants must be 12 years or older
  • Trip cost is all-inclusive; no hidden or extra fees
  • Wolf Ridge naturalists are experienced wilderness guides, certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding/Wilderness Water Safety
