Winterfest

About

Free will donation for the Special Olympics for all sleigh rides. The History Center’s annual Winterfest program features corn shelling, dress up in vintage clothing, write with a quill pen and ink, history crafts, hot cider and cookies, and a visit the Stoppel cave on the George Stoppel farmstead! Joseph and George Stoppel, brothers and German immigrants, dug out the caves in 1856. Would you live in the cave—in wintertime? They and their families lived in the caves that winter. Find out if it’s colder or warmer in the cave than outside. $5 per child and free will donation is separate for all sleigh rides from 10am - 4pm.
