WORLD FLAVORS CULINARY TOUR IN MINNEAPOLIS NORTHWEST AUGUST 2022
By Minneapolis Northwest CVB on Jun. 12, 2022

You don’t need a passport to take your taste buds on a journey around the world! Start your adventure by tasting and creating the flavors of the world in Minneapolis Northwest as a participant of the World Flavors Culinary Tour.

You're invited to experience a very special culinary tour with an exclusive educational opportunity offered August 11-13, 2022. Enjoy some of the local restaurants, shop for exotic ingredients and create some of the most authentic dishes from around the world. The 3-day "World Flavors Culinary Tour" experience culminates with a trip to IgboFest!

Itinerary:

August 11 - Arrive at the hotel, reception, tour and voluntourism opportunity at Second Harvest Heartland, one of the world's largest food banks.

August 12 - Sample dishes and hear from the chefs from three local restaurants featuring authentic Jamaican, Thai and West African cuisine. Shop one of the largest world markets, Dragon Star Supermarket, for foods you've probably never heard of. Meet your chef instructors who will guide you on an ingredient scavenger hunt like no other in any supermarket. You'll see and learn about ingredients you never knew existed and what makes them vital to a dish.

August 13 - Create a delicious meal from the ingredients you selected in the culinary learning center at Hennepin Technical College. Chef Denis and Chef Tracy will amaze you with their knowledge of international cuisine. They'll guide you in serving up the most delectable meal before you head off for IgboFest, a West African festival featuring music, dance performances, world market and fun for everyone.

There will also be plenty of time to visit some of our area restaurants on your own to explore the cultural flavors Minneapolis Northwest has to offer. Check out just a few of them highlighted below.
