The Waseca County History Center and the Hofmann Family will be celebrating World Honey Bee Day on Saturday, August 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On site will be area honey producers, Terry McDaniel, Jason Casey-Sun Honey and Dan Strand sharing their bee keeping knowledge and selling honey related merchandise.
Visitors can walk the restored prairie and consult with the Waseca Soil and Water Conservation Office about efforts to restore habitat for wildlife as well as pollinators. Learn what resources are available to land owners in your area.
The pollinator gardens provide the opportunity for close up observation of our bees and other insect activity in the garden.
Edenvale Nursery will have pollinator plant favorites available for sale to add to ,or get you started, on your own pollinator garden!
Light refreshments for sale, popcorn, soda, water and the Tacos La Reyna Food Truck will be set up for hungry guests.
Live music will be provided by Ron Arsenault & Dave Pengra from 1 - 3 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public. Donations are graciously welcomed!
This event will be held rain or shine.
Limited shelter and seating available.
You are welcome to bring your own chairs.
