This destination consists of three cities in two states – so it’s no wonder our reputation is a little off-kilter. In North Dakota, there's Fargo (naturally) and West Fargo (which has the added distinction of being north and also "west" of normal). On the Minnesota side of the Red River, Moorhead literally propels our community beyond conventional boundaries. We owe a lot to our northern prairie locale. Our adventurous, pioneering spirit is alive and well. In our people, you'll find a unique mix of Midwestern gregariousness and quiet strength. Ingenuity, vision and down-to-earth practicality define our distinct prairie soul. The Fargo-Moorhead area offers great shopping, variety of restaurants, cultural events, museums, professional and amateur sports, entertainment.

There's plenty to do during your stay: See the last viking ship to sail the Atlantic. Walk through a pioneer village from our prairie pioneer past. Engage your sense of wonder at a zoo specializing in endangered species. Pay homage to heroes at the air museum with planes that still fly. Enjoy independent cinema at a restored movie theatre from the 1920's. Creativity abounds at our unique art museums. We have a feast of festivals for you throughout the year too.

Fargo-Moorhead is home to the infamous wood chipper from the movie "Fargo." The Fargo Wood Chipper Exhibit includes the original movie prop and memorabilia from the famous Coen Brothers film!
