From Ortonville, MN Head east 1+ miles on Hwy 75. Sign on right side of road marks auto tour route entrance. Continue east 5+ miles on Hwy 75. Sign on right side of road marks road to Headquarters (just across the railroad tracks.)

Good birding site, best visited in migration or early summer. Western vagrants are always a good possibility, and there are many good nesting species here as well. Self-guided auto tours and foot trails through the wildlife refuge. Wildlife observation, birding, fishing from riverbank or non-motorized boat on Minnesota River. Interpretive hiking trail, native prairie. Deer, small game and upland game hunting.
