Refresh and renew at this year-round, secluded, privately-owned rustic cottage on the North Shore of Lake Superior between Tofte and Lutsen, MN. Birch Cottage can sleep four comfortably. It has two updated bedrooms with queen size beds, and one bathroom. The cottage also has a small kitchen outfitted with updated appliances and everything you need for a comfortable stay. We welcome you to watch the lake, relax and grill on the wrap around cedar deck, walk down to the private ledge rock on the shore, read by the fireplace, or listen to the waves on Lake Superior right outside your window. Birch Cottage is within minutes of Cascade River and Temperance River State Parks, incredible hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail, the Gitchi Gami bike trail in your back yard, and mountain biking, cross-country and downhill skiing nearby. There is also a multitude of close dining options including Bluefin Bay, Coho Café and Lutsen Lodge as well as the excellent pubs, restaurants and shopping in Grand Marais, which is approximately 20 minutes away.

The perfect retreat to relax and re-focus, or perhaps an inspiring location to get some work done in the upstairs desk area complete with WiFi, a wireless printer, and inspiration straight ahead out the shore-facing window.

The perfect place to relax up on the Shore - whether your idea of relaxing is with your feet propped up in front of the fireplace, sitting on the deck enjoying the sights and sounds of Lake Superior, or challenging yourself by:

• Exploring one Lutsen Mountain's many superb ski trails
• Gliding along nearly 50 miles of XC ski trails located within 10 minutes
• Hiking / snowshoeing along the Superior Hiking trail or on any number of scenic trails in nearby MN State Parks
• Pushing yourself on new world-class mountain biking trails 2 miles up the Sawbill Trail from Tofte
• Rolling along the Githi Gami State Bicycle trail right in the backyard
• Skillfully navigating one of 27 breathtaking golf holes at Superior National Golf course 5 minutes away
