About

The New Hope Parks and Recreation Department offers many programs for people of all ages and all interests that will get you active, engaging with others and having lots of fun! From sports activities to science, technology, arts and crafts, there's something for everyone.   Nearly every home in New Hope is within a quarter-mile of a city park. With a total of 18 city parks, New Hope maintains over 200 acres of green space that is available to the public year round, from sunrise to sunset. 

New Hope Aquatic Park (4401 Xylon Ave N, just north of City Hall)
Opening June 2020, featuring a 50 meter pool, 3m and 1m diving boards, drop slide, current channel with vortex pool, floatable water play, 2 waterslides, water walk, zero depth entry, tot play area, water play features, chase lounge seating area, and concessions area.

New Hope Skate Park (4401 Xylon Ave N, just west of the New Hope Aquatic Park)
This one tier one skate park is suitable for skateboarders of all skill levels, including beginners. The park features an assortment of modular stainless steel ramps, grind rails, ledges and boxes on a 6,000 square foot concrete pad just west of the New Hope Aquatic Park. The skate park is free and open during park hours.

New Hope Disc Golf Course (located at Sunnyside Park, 4751 Quebec Ave N)
The course is free to the public and open during posted park hours. Any league play must be sanctioned by the Parks and Recreation Department.

New Hope Performance Center (4401 Xylon Ave N, just west of the New Hope Aquatic Park)
The performance center will host concerts, music in the park, city programs, special events, and will be home to the Off Broadway Musical Theater. In order for final construction to be completed and to give the grass and landscaping time to be established, limited programming will be held in 2020.

New Hope Ice Arena ( 4949 Louisiana Ave N )
The facility has 2 rinks, both have the standard dimensions of 200 feet by 85 feet.  The north rink has stadium seating with a capacity of 2,200 and the south rink has seating for 1,000.  Each rink has four public locker rooms.  Skate rental is also available.  This is the home ice for the Armstrong Cooper Youth Hockey Association, the Armstrong/Cooper boys and girls teams, and the Upper Midwest High School Elite.

New Hope Village Golf Course (8130 Bass Lake Rd)
This public nine-hole, par-three course is conveniently located a half mile east of Highway 169 at 8130 Bass Lake Road in New Hope.  This carefully-maintained course has seven holes with bunkers and a collection of water hazards that make it a challenge for beginners and experienced golfers alike. The clubhouse features a pro shop, snack bar, and an indoor seating area with televisions and fireplace. The clubhouse also has a covered patio with picnic tables and gas grills that is a great venue for a group or company outing.

New Hope Community Gyms ( 8230 47th Ave N, north end of Cooper High School)
New Hope Community Gyms have two full-size basketball courts available for recreational and athletic activities. Other amenities include a batting cage, concessions area, storage rooms and restrooms. Whether you're looking for a place to hold a team practice, a weekend tournament or maybe even a birthday party, we have just the place for you.
