The Hjemkomst Center is a unique multi-use facility owned and operated by the City of Moorhead Parks and Recreation Department. This beautiful facility hosts a variety of special exhibits and events, offering something for the entire family.
The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County
is located within the building, and is responsible for directing the Clay County museum and archives at the Hjemkomst Center. They also provide tours of Moorhead's Hjemkomst Viking Ship and Hopperstad Stave Church, and manage historic sites throughout Clay County, including the Comstock House and the Bergquist Cabin. Their newest program, Viking Connection, develops Viking Age heritage arts in the Upper Midwest.
