Hot Plate

About

Hot Plate has been around since 2005. It started as a full service restaurant with owners Carrie Lewis & Sam Beberg as they turned the previous salon into an eclectic 70's themed dining area. Sure, some of the original wall-wide mirrors remain as a testament of that time. After a couple of turns, it found its right place as a breakfast focused neighborhood dinner.

Early 2017 Carmen Santana took ownership with the goals of maintaining the legacy and looking for opportunities to expand.

Hot Plate is known for its unique Nutella, peanut butter and bacon pancakes. Our house specials include the Grand Marais and Carnitas scrambles. The caramelized pecan rolls are also a mouthful, try them and let us know. We also try new and original dishes on a regular basis. Those getting the two-thumbs-up are likely to make it into our regular menu over time.

We are open everyday from 8:00am to 2:00pm, and we serve breakfast until 1:45pm, when our kitchen closes and we start getting ready for the next day.

Waiting times vary on weekends, but you can expect from 15 minutes on Fridays and Saturdays to about 45min on Sundays. We cannot take reservations given the small size of our dining area, but we try hard to keep the waiting time to a minimum by keeping our table bussers on their toes and our kitchen running like a well-oiled machine. We kindly ask that your party is complete before we can assign your table.

Stop by, have some free coffee while you wait and enjoy your time. You will be glad to take a trip down memory lane, or feel free to ask what are those paintings and figurines, we might not know either, but they have been a conversation starter for many years now.
