NEW LOCATION!! We now have our own building and its awesome. You can come in and Itasca County people, places and resources that make up Itasca County history. Visit the Karjala Research Genealogy and History Center. Museum exhibits interpret life at the turn of the century, logging, mining, immigrants, homesteading, and native Americans of this region. Includes a Judy Garland exhibit. We tell the story of how the picture GRACE became the Minnesota State Photograph. Each year the Ordinary People exhibit changes; 2015 it features 4 artists, Jackie Dingmann, Gene Lysaker, Dodie Mcnew and Terry Maciej. Gift shop honors local crafts and locally authored books. ONLY SOUVENIR PENNY MACHINE in Itasca County featuring picture GRACE, Judy Garland Slippers, Wooly Mammoth and Old Central School. Stop in tour the museum, explore your genealogy and find an unique gift for your friends!
