From downtown Mpls head west on I-94 to the 49th and 53rd Ave exit. At the top of the exit take an immediate right into the parking lot of the Carl Kroening Interpretive Center parking lot.

Located at North Mississippi Regional Park, the center overlooks the Mississippi River with easy access right out the back door. Inside the Interpretive Center visitors can learn about logging and brick making along the river , discover the early history of North Minneapolis, visit the animal room to see local amphibians and reptiles, or relax and watch the bird feeding station. Young visitors can dress up with items from the river chest, hold a farmer’s market, build with "clay" bricks or explore the touch and see area.
