About
Landmark Center was built in 1902 and originally served as the Federal Court House and Post Office for the Upper Midwest. In the 1970s, a group of determined citizens saved the building from the wrecking ball and restored it to its previous grandeur.Today, Landmark Center serves as a cultural center for music, dance, theater, exhibitions, public forums, and hosts countless special events.
Landmark Center is truly a work of art serving people. It served as the Federal Court House and Post Office until the mid-20th century, when it was vacated and listed for demolition. A group of citizens successfully fought to save the building and today, Landmark Center serves as a gathering place, where cultures and traditions are shared with all people through music, dance, theater, exhibition and forums. Landmark Center is home to many unique gallery and museum spaces, now featuring the Uncle Sam Worked Here exhibit. The main floor houses the Anita's Cafe and LANDMARKET Gift Shop. Free public tours are offered Thursdays at 11 am and Sundays at 12 pm or by appointment. To learn more about our events and offerings visit us on the web at www.landmarkcenter.org.
