About

The purpose of supported employment is to provide opportunities in the labor market for individuals with disabilities. Being a former special education teacher, I knew that I wanted to serve people with special needs at Lotus Lake Gifts. I am so proud of the ways that we continue to grow in this area.

We currently work with Chanhassen High School as a job site for students with special needs. Lotus Lake Gifts provides work experience opportunities where students are able to practice and develop work skills in a real-life setting.

During their work time, students work on many skills that help with future employment including relationship building, communication, customer service, skill development, work accuracy, and general job skills.

We believe that with the right training, preparation, and accommodations, people with disabilities can have rewarding careers. We also believe that people with disabilities shine a very special light in this world and are grateful to be a small part of their journey here at Lotus Lake Gifts.
