Marc Rassel Photography

About

Photographer. Designer. Outdoorsman. Space Nerd.
I am a landscape astrophotographer based in Central Minnesota, USA offering photography workshops in Minnesota (and various locations throughout the world)

I am an award-winning and exhibiting landscape and night sky photographer, whose Milky Way photography has been featured in national juried shows across the United States. I have traveled to and photographed many locations around the world both professionally and personally, and have extensive experience photographing landscapes and the wonders of the night sky in a wide variety of locations and conditions. Through the experiences of owning and running an advertising and design firm, and my formal training in graphic design, fine arts, and marketing, I have amassed an array of skills that allow me to apply both a technical and aesthetic approach to my work and that of my students. Born and raised in Wisconsin, I have spent the vast majority of my life in the outdoors exploring the deep Northwoods of the Midwest and the mountainous landscapes of Colorado while living on the Western Slope for many years, before returning to the dark skies of central Minnesota.

Highlights of my photography workshops include:

  • All skill levels are always welcome!
  • Exploring a number of unique destinations under some of the darkest skies in the world.
  • Variety of landscapes and locations available / scouted.
  • Chance to learn a number of low-light and night sky shooting techniques across a variety of conditions.
  • Classroom-style post-processing instruction is included - you'll be able to develop your images from this workshop under expert instruction and 1-on-1 learning.
  • Low number of participants means more individual attention and stronger camaraderie and collaboration with fellow photographers.
  • Flexible itineraries to ensure beautiful destinations and photographic opportunities.
  • Red Cross First Aid / CPR Certified instructors; we also travel with GPS emergency response beacons.
  • Permitted and insured.
